I am available to do custom quilting on my APQS Millenium Longarm, which is what I use with the quilts that you see on my blog.
You provide your completed quilt top, quilt batting and quilt backing (batting and backing both at least 2" wider on all sides) and I do the quilting. The additional inches are needed on the backing and batting to allow it to be mounted on the longarm rollers and to ensure the design can be carried right to the edge of your quilt.
Prices start at $3.00 a square foot for basic quilting and increase depending on the design you choose. So as a "for instance"... you have a queen quilt measuring 82 x 96... that comes to approximately 55 square feet... times $3.00 per square foot is $165.00.
All my designs are hand guided. I do not use templates or printed patterns. My designs are fun and whimsical. Anything I can draw I can quilt and I always enjoy creating one of a kind designs, after all your quilt is uniquely yours and should reflect that.
I use high quality polyester thread such as Magnifico and Fantastico from Superior Threads. I can also use cotton thread if that is your preference. Threads are purchased from Cotton Mill Threadworks, and their website has a full listing of the colours and types of threads they offer. My APQS is sensitive so she will only run on the very best I can offer her !
I quilt names, quotes, sayings, song lyrics or poems... anything really... into your quilt. I have quilted an entire quilt with simply words running up and down vertically on the quilt. It adds a unique touch to have your words stitched right into the quilt.
My turnaround time is 4 weeks however if you require the quilt quickly, for a wedding or birthday party, I can accommodate. I do understand all too well what it is like to create a quilt under short notice, usually my own ! Rush quilt jobs do carry an additional charge depending on the size of the quilt and how fast you need it.
Finally, I can make and attach your binding to your quilt, either to be hand finished or machine completed. These services are not included in the base quilting price but I can provide you a quote based on the size of quilt you have and exactly what you need. It can be very satisfying to drop of the parts of your quilt and pick up the completed quilt, ready to be used and loved.
